STRAVINSKY Le Sacre Du Printemps (1966 UK stereo LP issue
of the 1960 recording of the landmark classic Rite Of Spring,
conducted by the composer himself. This amazing work was
written during the same period as the equally classic Firebird
& Petrushka ballet suites, representing a particularlyfertile
time in the composer's life. This recording is particularly
special because there is an actual spoken introduction to the
work by the composer himself, explaining the performance &
the work and at the same time debunking several myths that
had arisen since its debut performance in St. Petersburg on
18 February 1914. A classic performance of an incredibly
influential work, introduced and conducted by the composer
himself, so performed exactly as Stravinsky wanted it
performed. Housed in a front laminated picture sleeve, which
shows just a little light shelfwear & the vinyl remains in
excellent condition with few signs of play)
