ART PEPPER Among Friends (1980 UK 8-track LP, one of a
series of comeback albums recorded after Art had spent
years in drug rehabilitation. Now with a new marriage & sense
of purpose he proceeded to record as if there were no
tomorrow. The difference in these later recordings, compared
to his early work, is the amount of passion & soul driving
every note, as if any might be the last he'd ever play. This
fine outing also includes the talents of Russ Freeman, Bob
Magnusson & Frank Butler. The fully laminated picture sleeve
shows some age discoloration and edgewear, whilst the vinyl
looks superb with just light spindlewear to show play FLY211)
