DIZZY GILLESPIE The Verve/Philips Dizzy Gillespie Small Group Sessions (Limited Edition 2006 European Mosaic Records SEVEN CD compilation box set, with each disc housed in its respective double album jewel case with picture inlay, all kept ina lavish 12" glossy & pasted picture box with pasted details on the back, complete with an exclusive 16-page booklet. Limited to 10,000 copies only. This set contains all of the recorded music from Dizzy's working bands from 1954 to 1964 during his years with Verve and Philips. Concurrently, he toured and recorded with his own big band, with Jazz At The Philharmonic and went into the studio with various all-star configurations with such guests as Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Stuff Smith and Roy Eldridge among others. The seven CD's include much material that has never been available on CD. Twelve tracks are previously unreleased. The inside of the outer box and the booklet shows a little light discolouration, whilst the CDs look barely played)
