BRIAN MAY Star Fleet Project (Deluxe Edition 2023 UK/EU limited edition box set, Brian May's legendary 1983 super sessions featuring Eddie Van Halen, Alan Gratzer, Phil Chen and Fred Mandel. With all new mixes of the entire 2-day sessions from the original analogue multitrack recordings. The box contains 2-CDs with 32 audio tracks, the mini-album LP pressed on 180-gram Transparent Red Vinyl, a black vinyl 7" single, 32-page book with extensive liner notes, and a Star Fleet badge. Housed inside a lift-off lid box, with hype sticker attached. The box displays minimal wear and the content remains in near mint condition)

On 21st and 22nd April, 1983, Brian May was joined at Record Plant Recording Studios, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. by his friends Eddie Van Halen (guitar), Alan Gratzer (drums), Phil Chen (bass), and Fred Mandel (keyboards). The output of the two days’ sessions was captured on a 3-track mini album and released on October 31st, 1983, titled Brian May + Friends: Star Fleet Project.
Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, Star Fleet Project will be given the full reissue treatment as part of Brian’s ongoing Gold Series. Brian and his studio team, Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson, have created a completely new 2023 mix of the sessions from the original multi-track master tapes, and the artwork has been completely digitally recreated from the original 1983 source material, to give fans the very best experience at the highest possible quality.
Star Fleet Project and Beyond features the single version of the title track alongside full-length album versions of “Let Me Out” and “Blues Breaker”. Included is an interview with Cynthia Fox and a Rockline interview with Bob Coburn. A live version of “Let Me Out” from the Palace Theatre in LA along with “We Will Rock You” and a reworking of the same song’s adored fast rendition. Finally, the CD closes with the full LP version of “Star Fleet”.
In addition to the new 2023 mixes of the 3-track mini-album, the 40th Anniversary reissue presents a second CD chock full of previously unreleased session recordings, as well as two radio interviews, and two live tracks, giving fans 135 minutes of audio. Star Fleet Sessions is presented in a physical-exclusive 2CD+LP+7” Deluxe Edition Box Set.
