THURSTON MOORE Root (1998 UK five 12" vinyl EP box set. Documenting a unique collaborative project initiated by Lo Recordings in May 1997. The label received a DAT tape containing 30 one-minute guitar pieces by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. Each piece was duplicated onto individual tapes and sealed inside custom-designed vacuum-cleaner bags. One hundred of these bags were distributed to a selected group of visual artists and musicians, each invited to create a new work using the original recording as a starting point. The result is a fascinating collection of 30 guitar pieces by Thurston Moore, remixed, remodelled and reshaped, presented here as an expansive and exploratory listening experience. Housed in a two piece picture box with fold-out photo/credit insert. The box shows some light marks, creasing and edge wear. All 5 vinyl discs are Excellent with minimal signs of play)
