PHIL COLLINS Both Sides (2016 UK limited edition 11-track remastered double LP issue of his 1993 fifth solo studio album, pressed on 180gram Vinyl. Both Sides stands as one of Phil Collins’ most personal and introspective works, notable for beingentirely written, arranged, performed, and produced by Collins himself – a true solo effort in every sense.
Released at a transitional time in his life, the album explores themes of heartbreak, separation, political disillusionment, and emotional vulnerability. Gone are the big horn sections and radio-ready hooks of his earlier solo hits; instead, Both Sides offers a more subdued, ambient, and often haunting sonic palette.
Highlights include the poignant lead single Both Sides of the Story, the bittersweet Everyday (a UK Top 20 hit), the politically charged We Wait and We Wonder, and the atmospheric Can’t Turn Back the Years. The production leans heavily on synth textures, layered percussion, and melancholic melodies, reflecting a more mature and experimental side of Collins. Comes complete with the illustrated credit inners with artist notes . The sleeve & the vinyl appears in Excellent/Near Mint condition PCLP93)
